Recently my fiancé and I took a trip to Sedona and let me tell you, it was absolutely the best trip I have ever been on. I recommend everyone visit at least once!
The best things about Sedona are:
1. The scenery. Just wow. It is so amazing and never got old. I may be biased because I am a mountain person but I feel like most people would agree.
2. The people. Everyone we encountered was so friendly and helpful.
3. THE FOOD. Every single meal we had was absolutely delicious. I will go through all of the restaurants we visited and try to start with my favs but honestly they were all amazing.
Indian Gardens gets the #1 spot because it was my absolute favorite. We ate here 3 different times while in Sedona. Everything is made fresh, they roast their own coffee and they also have a pretty good beer selection.
One thing that really impressed me is that they served organic butter and a tiny jar of jam with breakfast. The jam was free of high fructose corn syrup and delicious.
We stayed at TinyCamp in the Flow cabin for two nights and Indian Gardens was really close by. This was convenient since TinyCamp is a little ways out of town.
Oak Creek Brewery and Grill is one the two breweries in town. Good beer and the best french fried I have ever had! #crispy
Sedona Beer Co has a nice outdoor area with giant Jenga available to play. They had a larger variety of beer than Oak creek did. The food was really good but just a heads up the portions are huge! My fiancé and I shared a salad and truffle sweet potato fries and it was more than enough.
Mariposa is a 5 star restaurant with the best views in town. The inside and outside is absolutely beautiful. You can tell there was a lot of thought and detail that went into this restaurant. Our Uber driver told us the front door made of quartz is worth $200,000! This place isn’t like other fancy restaurants that give you super small portions for high dollar. We left dinner completely stuffed! Our favs were the French Cut Australia Rack of Lamb and Lisa’s Lovely Lemon Mashed Potatoes with Luscious Lobster Scampi.
The Coffee Pot is a local diner right in town. They have 101 different omelettes to choose from! We ate here twice, both for breakfast, and both times were delish. They also have a small gift shop in the front of the store. Tip: Their main parking lot in from is kind of small and they can get pretty busy. There is another lot to the right of the store that allows parking.
SaltRock Kitchen is located in the Amara Resort and Spa. Great food and they have a nice view from their outdoor seating.
Vino Di Sedona has a large selection of wine and craft beer. If you’re looking for the best hummus plate you’ve ever had, this place is it!
More random info about visiting Sedona:
-The town shuts down pretty early. We’re talking 9pm at the latest.
-We drove to Flagstaff one day and it was a very scenic drive. There are also several breweries there if you’re into that sort of thing.
-You need a parking pass for most of the hiking trail lots. Military gets them for free. You can pick them up at the Red Rock Visitor Center.
– We hiked Cathedral Rock which is one of the most popular hiking spots. We heard it’s best to hike at sunset but I honestly could not imagine doing that. It was the most intense hike I have ever done but I’m sure it’s amazing at sunset. Let me know if you have ever done it!
